Bio from her website:
My ongoing projects and research push the boundaries between animation and other media and focus on environmental change, metamorphosis and transformation, and states of subjectivity. I work in a wide range of media including animation, documentary, visual effects, sculpture, mosaic, and community-based and public art. My animation has been screened in international festivals and has aired on children’s public television, MTV and Sesame Street. I’ve received many grants and awards including Media Arts fellowships from the states of Florida and Pennsylvania and Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards.I lead workshops that use animation and technology to engage and empower students, particularly girls and young women. I received degrees from Cornell University (BA, English), the University of the Arts (MA, Art Education), the Annenberg School at the University of Pennsylvania (MA, Communication), and Towson University (MFA, Studio Art). Teaching is an integral part of my creative practice: as a teacher, professor, and visiting artist I design creative projects that engage students of all levels, from elementary students to adults. I am currently on the faculty at Towson University in the department of Electronic Media and Film. I was a member of the full-time faculty at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia for a decade, and have also taught at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Delaware College of Art and Design, Stockton State College, University of Maryland Baltimore County, and Cornell University.
