Veronika Soul

Veronika Soul was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1944 and received a B.A. from St. John’s College, Annapolis (Great Books Program) in 1966. She has been an independent filmmaker since 1972. Her work includes animation, documentary, narrative and experimental film and video. She began working as a freelance director at the National Film Board of Canada in Montreal in 1974 and in the late 1970s began working in New York as a commercial and independent director. Her work has received numerous awards and has been shown at venues internationally. She also works as a graphic designer for print and broadcast media. Her award-winning work has been screened at MoMA, Lincoln Center, Film Forum, Art Gallery of Ontario, Pacific Film Archive, Centre Georges Pompidou Paris, international film festivals, network TV, PBS, CBC and NHK Japan.
