Maite Ruiz de Austri (Madrid, 1959) is a writer, screenwriter and director of Spanish cinema and television , specializing in programs for children and young people. So far she has directed five films and one television series. She belongs to CIMA (Women’s Filmmakers Association) and is a member of the Academy of Sciences and Cinematographic Arts of Spain.

Among the many important prizes she has received in his long career are: two Goya Awards for the best animated film for The Return of the North Wind (1995) and Why Neighbors Such Animals! (1999), two gold medals at The Houston International Film Festival and silver medal and bronze medal at The New York TV Festival.
