María Trénor

Born in Spain, she studied Fine Arts at San Carlos University in Valencia.

She worked for several years as head of the graphic department of a post-production company and subsequently began working as an illustrator and freelance graphic artist.

With her first animated short film, ‘Con qué la lavaré’, María Trénor won 14 national and international awards at, among others, the 54th Berlinale International Film Festival, Animadrid, Indie Lisboa, Cinema Jove or Medina del Campo. She was also featured at the official selection of renowned festivals (Sundance International Independent film festival, Guadalajara-México, Alcine, Versión Española) and also in screenings at the Cervantes Institute outside Spain.

Her last short film, ‘EXLIBRIS’, was nominated at the Goya Awards in 2011 and won CAJA MADRID Trophy for best artistic direction at ALCINE 2010 and the TELSON award to the best special effects in a Spanish movie at the Experimental Cinema Week in Madrid, a festival directed by Jose Luis Borau.
