Tess Martin
Tess Martin is a filmmaker who works with hand-made animation techniques such as paper cut-out, paint-on-glass or phonotropes. Themes of her work can include perception, communication and our relationship with each other and the natural world. Her work often blurs the boundaries between experimental/narrative, and film/art and it can be seen in festivals and galleries worldwide. She has been a fellow at the Camargo Foundation, the Bogliasco Foundation and the Open Workshop, among others, and received support recently from the Netherlands Film Fund, the Stimuleringsfonds Creative Industry and Rooftop Films. Her 2019 short film ‘ORBIT’ premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. Tess also directs and animates for commercial projects and lectures occasionally at universities in the Unites States and the Netherlands.
