Sarah Ann Kennedy
Sarah has worked in the animation industry for over thirty years in various roles including writer, director, executive producer, voice actor, and academic. Her first commission was for Channel 4 and was called Family Favourites. It’s a short animated film about the stresses that can happen around the Christmas season. She also created, wrote and directed two adult animated shows for Channel 4 in the nineties, ‘Nights’ and ‘Crapston Villas’ as well as playing the fantastic ‘Dolly’ in Candy Guard’s Pond Life. Crapston Villas is still available on 4 On demand if you want to take a peep! She is currently the voice of Miss Rabbit in the world’s most loved pre-school animation series Peppa Pig, as well as playing Nanny Plum in Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom. She is currently working as an academic running MA Animation at University of Central Lancashire and she has just finished making a documentary about the role of women in the animation industry which was broadcast on Sky Showcase in October 2019 and will be screened on the 11th November at Manchester Animation Festival Conference. She is currently starting her PhD at Surrey University and writing ideas for a new film.
