Begoña Vicario
Begoña Vicario was born in Caracas (Venezuela) in 1962. She currently resides in Larrabetzu with her five children. Degree in Fine Arts in the Audiovisual specialty from the UPV / EHU, she has studied animation at the PIOT Studio in Moscow and in various experimental animation courses at the Design Center of Gasteiz.
Since 1988, she has been an animation teacher at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of the Basque Country, where she teaches how to represent the movement, the foundations of animation cinema and its techniques. In 1995 he founded the animation film production company “Begoña Vicario.” Two years later, he received the Goya Award for best animated short film “Ask me”, a film that deals with the life of an immigrant woman without papers who fears for her life at the hands of organ traffickers.
In recent years he has experimented with animated films, as a way of knowledge of the world and of self-knowledge, and has made a series of short films such as:
